Established King Of Bread Bophut at the corner of Soi Sundays with the aim to supply good quality bread to an unmet need.
We added a cafe to the bakery to sell hot drinks such as coffee for our customers to go with the bakery goods they were buying.
Then came Cafe KOB or 'Cafe King Of Bread' to provide a more expanded but casual dining experience for our customers.
The pandemic happens but Cafe KOB continue to safely serve our customers throughout the lockdown through home delivery and supplying essential bakery goods. We also added a Juice Bar to our Bophut cafe!
We opened our second Cafe KOB branch on the beautiful Bangrak beach which we named 'KOB by the Sea'
We are foodies – that’s what you call people who are crazy about food. We enjoy the simple act of eating and the social aspects of it. As Thais we love to travel domestically and internationally and we like to take our time doing it. We take our time to enjoy the experiences and food is a big part of that. Often we would detour from the normal routes just to find that one place that looked interesting to dine at. Every place we visited we we hunted for the most wonderful yet simple dishes and when we did find a special place it was a a delight especially when the most delicious food would be from roadside restaurants, small hole in the wall cafes, street food vendors or similar. These were places ran by the owners themselves and not some faceless restaurant chain.
Whenever we travelled somewhere we realised that breakfast was a very important meal to set you with the energy for the day ahead but finding a good breakfast is not always easy. It’s okay if you don’t have breakfast because a coffee wil do in a pinch but having a good breakfast gives you the chance to explore without worrying about that rumbling stomach. When visiting small towns or villages we noticed that there were places that the locals visited when they can’t think of what to eat. The type of place where when you walk inside you can feel the local vibe without cliqueness but just a warm welcome and smiles. The type of place where when you open their menu you see that the passion is there. The bill is always fair, they love their customers equally. The most charming thing about those places was that they are managed with love and care. It’s this that gives you that feeling you have been somewhere unique, somewhere memorable, somewhere that makes a lasting smile.
To cut the story short, we strongly believe in simple but delicious food. That is simple food with quality ingredients put together with love and care. Ingredients from all around the world. We cook and cook and cook and try to give the joy of our experiences to you so that you too can experience a charming cafe atmosphere with staff that care and prices that are fair – right here in Koh Samui, Thailand.
We listened to our customers and they asked for more. Now Cafe KOB is not just a fabulous bakery but also a cafe with good coffee, food and a friendly atmosphere where all are welcome.
Simple but delicious food and drinks in comfortable friendly cafes built on fairness and a passion to impress. Come and take a break at one of our cafes!
